2023 “Getaway” Trip Participants Page

This is going to be such a fun trip! We’ll be taking Grinnell Christian Church’s Ford Transit passenger van (like the one pictured) down, and an extra vehicle for luggage if needed. The sponsors for the trip are Joel Nielsen (402-278-2669) and Markie Nielsen (402-278-2667). The packing list and trip itenerary are below. We’ll be posting trip updates and pictures to our Facebook, IG, & Snapchat stories. and we’ll turn our snapchat (centeryouthiowa) location on so that you can follow our travels in real time. Packing List

• Sleeping Bag/bedding

• sleeping mat or air mattress (optional)

• change of clothes

• toiletries (no showers available where we stay)

• money for 2 meals and gas station stops along the way (at least 2 stops)

Itinerary

• Friday, Sepember 29

  • 10:30 AM depart from the school parking lot (gravel)

    • bag lunch provided (sandwiches, chips, and fruit)

  • 5:30 PM Arrive in Joplin and eat fast food (students pay)

    • options at our stop: Subway, McDonalds, Wendy’s, Hardees, Long John Silvers, Sonic

  • 6:30 PM Arrive at Ozark Christian College and Check-in

  • 11:00 PM Arrive at Blendville Christian Church (this is where we are sleeping)

• Saturday, September 30

  • 8:00 AM eat breakfast (provided) at the Church (Heavenly Donuts Co.)

  • 9:00 AM Arrive at Ozark Christian College for conference activities

    • (lunch is provided by Ozark - Chick-fil-a)

  • 3:00 PM Depart from Ozark Christian College

  • 5:30 PM Stop in Kansas City (Liberty, MO) for supper (students pay)

    • options at this stop: Panda Express, Taco Bell, Arby’s, McDonald’s, KFC

  • 10:30 PM Arrive back at the school Parking Lot
