Living Water Christian Mission (Haiti) Year in Review
Living Water is a missions partner of Madison Church. Based in Gonaives, Haiti, and led by Salonique Adolphe (who recently visited our church in 2024), Living Water operates three churches, runs two elementary schools, one traditional high school, and one high school for adults. They also operate a vocational school, a farm, a seminary, and a Health clinic. That is… a lot !
Check out their end-of-2025 update
Dear brothers and sisters,
Greetings to you in the name of our wonderful God and Savior, Jesus! I am very sorry for wishing all of you a happy New Year so late! Over the last month I have been extremely busy. The ministerial staff, the members of Living Water in Gonaives, and I have been dealing with several funerals, weddings, and the ordination of two new ministers. There are many planning meetings with family members of each person who passed away. In addition to visitation, meetings with leaders, and the actual ceremonies. They are all draining and tiring. Last Saturday alone, we had three funerals to deal with. It has been a tough time emotionally. I pray the rest of the year is much better.
I pray that we will make a special effort this year to develop a much deeper relationship with Jesus. I pray that we will grow in our understanding of the love of God for us individually and collectively. As apostle John stated it, “Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another” (1 John 4: 11). I pray that we seek to love people with their eternal destiny and ours in mind.
The truth is, we are surrounded by suffering people longing to be around people who care, people who love. Some people are suffering because of the loss of a loved one. I am experiencing this firsthand, both personally and pastorally. Others are suffering because of illnesses and physical limitations; in some cases illnesses and limitations that doctors do not have a handle on. Still, many others are suffering emotionally for various reasons. They are all hoping to have people in their human environment who love them and care. Continue to be the people who care for those around you.
I thank God for the love you showed toward Living Water, my family, and me over the years, especially in 2025.
You’ve shown your love by making it possible for us to:
provide education of over 3,500 people
minister to even a higher number of people
stucco the building at Highland
set up the solar panels for power at Highland
launch the computer lab at HL
facilitate the progress on the construction of new classrooms for the schools
provide classroom furniture like chairs for the university
drill a new well for the orphanage
take care of the orphans (We are waiting on the delivery of an inverter to have reliable
power for the house of the orphanage)
build new classrooms for the university—they are near completion
feed people in our communities and school children
hold Summer camp for several hundreds of students
provide education over 2,500 school children from pre-school to senior high
pay employee salaries for the year, progress on the Church construction in Marotte
provide Sunday breakfast at the children’s church
complete the office of Highland pre-school principal
participate in furthering higher education of several people
provide health care to many people
Host, chauffeur, feed me and other family members in your homes
provide for various needs of my family
and the list goes on and on.
You did all of these and more by generously giving to Living Water Christian Mission. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, HE gave…” A French Translation puts 1 John 3:16 this way: “This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ gave HIS life for us.” You, you give your hard earned dollars to change lives in Haiti and to bring more people into the Kingdom of God. Thank you!
The photos attached to this newsletter show a few people you have been impacting for Christ and a few you have weaponized to do the work of Christ. The stats I received yesterday indicate we have:
700 students at the university
322 at the School of Business Administration
188 at the School of Education
145 at the School of Nursing
45 at the Bible College
Moreover:
the vocational school has 303 students
167 students in Office Computing
59 in Accounting
77 in the Seamstress School Bonnie Furniss
There are about 700 students from preschool to senior high school.
Campus 1 is very busy.
Thanks for participating in the education of each and every one of them.
Please continue to show your love for the lost and for the least of His again this year and forward!
Yours and His,
Salonique Adolphe and Team
