2026 “Getaway” Trip Participants Page

This is going to be such a fun trip! We’ll be taking (our friend) Grinnell Christian Church’s 15-passenger van (pictured)down. The sponsors for the trip are Joel Nielsen (402-278-2669) and Markie Nielsen (402-278-2667). The packing list and trip itinerary are below. We’ll be posting trip updates and pictures to our Facebook, IG, & Snapchat stories. If you have any questions, you can get a hold of Joel at the number above.

Packing List

  • Sleeping Bag/bedding

  • sleeping mat or air mattress (optional)

  • Change of clothes

  • toiletries (no showers available where we stay)

  • Money for 2 meals and gas station stops along the way (at least 2 stops each way)

  • Bible

Itinerary

  • Friday, September 25

    • 10:30 AM depart from the school parking lot (gravel)

      • Lunch will be provided (Casey's Pizza at a stop along the way)

    • 5:30 PM Arrive in Joplin and eat fast food (students pay)

      • Options at our stop: (Mall Food Court) Chick-fil-A, Food Court Japanese, Charley’s Cheesesteak, Orange Julius, Etc.

    • 6:30 PM Arrive at Ozark Christian College and check in

    • 11:00 PM Arrive at Fir Road Christian Church (this is where we are sleeping)

  • Saturday, September 26

    • 8:00 AM Eat breakfast (provided) at the Church

    • 9:00 AM Arrive at Ozark Christian College for conference activities

      • (Lunch is provided by Ozark)

    • 3:00 PM Depart from Ozark Christian College

    • 5:30 PM Stop in Kansas City (Belton, MO) for supper (students pay)

      • Options at this stop: Raising Cane’s, Chipotle, Arby’s, Pepper Jack's, McDonald’s

    • 9:00 PM Arrive back at the school Parking Lot
